The Television Academy will announce nominations for the 78th Emmy Awards Wednesday morning in a live presentation by previous winners Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller from the Wolf Theatre. This season 555 series were submitted across 14 major program categories, down from 600 last year, and the nominations kick off the formal race that recognizes writers, directors, performers and other artisans who worked on television and streaming programs. The awards show will air live Sept. 14 on NBC and Peacock and will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
