Lisa wins VMA best pop and BTS wins song of the year
At the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Lisa became the first Asian solo artist to win Best Pop for "Dream", her collaboration with Kentaro Sakaguchi, while BTS became the first K-pop group to win Song of the Year for "Swim". Lisa performed her new single "SaWaDiKa", which had its first televised performance and will feature on her EP Press Play due 23 October. BTS swept three nominations for "Swim" and Best Group but did not attend and accepted via a statement from Big Hit Music, noting Arirang was a fresh group start after mandatory military service.
