Eddie Murphy to star in Peacock drama The Chairman
Eddie Murphy is set to headline The Chairman, a drama series in development at Peacock from Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner. If greenlit, it would be Murphy's first live-action scripted television role after a decades-long film career that includes Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America and recent voice work on Shrek 5 and a Donkey spin-off. Universal Television and 101 Studios are producing, marking the first project from 101 Studios' new first-look deal with NBCUniversal, and both Murphy and Weiner serve as executive producers alongside David Glasser and consultant producer Chris McCarthy.
