UBEC mobilises over ₦100 billion in matching grants

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) reported that it has mobilised more than ₦100 billion in previously unaccessed matching grants for states and the Federal Capital Territory, and is investing the funds in school infrastructure, teacher development and digital learning under its 2025–2031 strategic blueprint aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda. UBEC said it supported construction of over 4,600 classrooms, renovation of more than 6,100 classrooms, provision of 2,780 toilets, 678 boreholes, and supplied over 334,000 pieces of school furniture, plus 2,300 early childhood centres and 7.8 million instructional materials, while spending ₦20.4 billion on teacher professional development.
