Yellow Card shutters retail app to focus on stablecoin infrastructure
2 min read

Yellow Card, an African cryptocurrency company founded in 2016, will end nearly a decade of retail trading services and stop serving retail customers on January 1, 2026, to focus exclusively on business-to-business stablecoin infrastructure. The company will provide stablecoin payment rails, treasury solutions and settlement infrastructure for businesses across more than 50 emerging markets. The pivot follows a year of repositioning that included securing anti-money laundering affiliation in Switzerland in June and building partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, Western Union, MoneyGram and Thunes, signaling a shift toward regulated enterprise demand for digital dollar rails.
Yellow Card will end retail trading on January 1, 2026.
