Uphold launches equities service offering 4,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs
Uphold has launched an equities service giving U.S. customers access to more than 4,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs inside its platform and enabling one-step trades between supported cryptocurrencies and equities. The service offers no Uphold commission, fractional shares where available, and orders can start at about $5 subject to account approval and minimums; equity investing involves risk. Crypto-to-stock trades convert crypto to U.S. dollars through Uphold HQ, Inc. and incur exchange and brokerage fees, and brokerage custody is carried by Apex Clearing Corporation with SIPC protections only for securities accounts. Uphold plans to expand to 24-hour extended trading five days a week.
