UAE climbs to second in global crypto index
Henley & Partners' 2026 crypto index assessed 36 countries across regulation, taxation, infrastructure, innovation and adoption and placed Singapore first and the UAE second after it climbed from fifth. The UAE received a 10 out of 10 tax friendliness score and the report noted no tax on crypto trading, staking or mining, while Dubai's 2022 standalone virtual assets regulator was highlighted. Hong Kong, the US and Switzerland completed the top five. The report also estimates 135,694 crypto millionaires worldwide, a $2.6tn crypto market and $1.6tn in Bitcoin, and notes changes to its crypto wealth methodology.
