BVNK and LemFi launch stablecoin cross-border payment network

1 min read

LemFi has partnered with stablecoin infrastructure provider BVNK to route cross-border settlement over regulated stablecoin rails, a move meant to bypass legacy banks and reduce transfer time and cost. BVNK’s Chris Harmse framed the approach as operationalising LemFi’s stablecoin strategy that began in May 2026 after a strategic investment from Tether. The arrangement targets known frictions that raise transfer costs and comes as real-world stablecoin payment volumes reached US$7.4tn in the past 12 months and analysts predict stablecoins could grow from 3% to 20% of cross-border payments within a decade.
