Lagos police detain six Liberians over visa scam
3 min read

The Lagos police have detained six Liberian nationals accused of human trafficking, abduction and an international visa scam that promised relocation to Canada and the United Kingdom. The suspects were arrested in Gberigbe, Ikorodu, after victims said they were lured from Liberia, had their passports seized and were held in a rented apartment where they were pressured to recruit others. Commissioner Fatai Tijani ordered transfer of the case to the state criminal investigation department (SCID), and the Delta Force anti-robbery unit is leading the probe; authorities said more arrests are being sought and charges will follow investigations.
