NDLEA destroys 329,865.585kg of illicit drugs in Lagos
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency destroyed 329,865.585 kilograms of assorted illicit substances in Lagos at a court-authorised exercise at Navy Town, Ojo, representing an estimated street value of N301.058 billion. The stock included 246,864.535 kg seized by the Lagos Strategic Command between April 2025 and May 2026 and 83,001.05 kg from airport, Tincan, Apapa, marine and special operations units. Destroyed items ranged from cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine to cannabis strains, ephedrine, tramadol, codeine syrup, other opioids and khat. Officials said the action aims to deny traffickers funding and limit related social and economic harms.
