Gunmen abduct six clerics on Zamfara feeder road
Police in Zamfara state said six Islamic clerics were abducted on September 12 at about 11:30 a.m. after their vehicle was ambushed on the Dakko-Damri feeder road in Bakura local government area. The clerics were travelling to Talata Mafara for a meeting with the director general of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, when gunmen with sophisticated weapons forced them into the surrounding bush. The Zamfara command said tactical teams, the Violence Crime Response Unit and other agencies have been deployed and the commissioner directed intensified efforts to locate and rescue the victims.
