Four jailed for trafficking and exploiting 24 Thai women
Four people were jailed for a combined 23 years after a network trafficked and sexually exploited 24 Thai women in brothels across London and Kent, prosecutors told Woolwich Crown Court on 18 September. The Metropolitan Police's Modern Slavery and Child Exploitation Team began investigating in 2025 after welfare checks, finding passports seized, coercion to repay debts often in the tens of thousands, and one woman smuggled from the Netherlands. On 22 October 2025 officers executed warrants at seven locations, seizing £57,145, designer items, phones, bank cards and victim passports, identifying 26 linked brothels and offering victims immediate support.
