Duterte defense says reviewing ICC evidence will take 16,000 hours
Duterte's defense told ICC Trial Chamber III that prosecutors disclosed 62,130 evidence items — more than 320,000 pages and about 1,000 audio-visual materials — and estimated a conservative review time of about 16,000 person-hours at three minutes per page. The lawyers said roughly 57,000 items arrived after June 8 and about 37,000 on or after Aug. 31, and they questioned the relevance and metadata quality of much of the record. They asked the chamber to cap a new, reviewed case record at 10,000 items by Oct. 7 and to exclude unverified or duplicative material ahead of the Nov. 30 trial.
