Pony.ai and Uber plan deployment of 2,000 robotaxis across Europe
Pony.ai and Uber announced an expanded strategic partnership to collaborate on deploying more than 2,000 Pony.ai Robotaxis across Europe, building on a commercial service in Zagreb that will join the Uber platform. Pony.ai will supply level 4 autonomous driving technology, rider experience design and operational expertise, while Uber will provide booking, payment and customer service access through its mobility platform and a hybrid network of human drivers. Day-to-day fleet operations are expected to be run by selected local fleet partners, and the rollout will be announced in phases with additional plans for the Middle East.
