iPronics raises $125 million to scale optical circuit switches
iPronics, a Valencia spinout from the Technical University of Valencia founded in 2019, closed a $125 million Series B on September 2 that brings total funding to $177 million, with Maverick Silicon and Light Street Capital co-leading and Nvidia participating. Its core product, the ONE platform, uses silicon photonics to create optical circuit switches that can reconfigure in sub-milliseconds, which the company says reduces GPU idle time, cuts power draw and can shrink existing optical circuit switch equipment by roughly 20x. The company has shipped switches for about a year, partnered with Fabrinet for high-volume packaging, and will expand operations into a new Santa Clara office.
