Argentina LNG partners apply for RIGI inclusion
YPF, Eni and Abu Dhabi-based XRG have applied to include their Argentina LNG project in Argentina's Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI) as they aim for a final investment decision by end-2026. The integrated proposal links Vaca Muerta gas acreage to two offshore floating LNG vessels with combined 12 million tonnes per year capacity and total lifecycle spending of up to $51 billion, which YPF calls the largest RIGI submission to date. Eni and XRG also agreed to take 32% stakes each in the upstream acreage while YPF would retain 36%, all subject to approvals. RIGI backing would provide fiscal, customs and foreign-exchange stability to help finance the project and expand Argentina's LNG export capacity.
