China condemns US additions to Uyghur forced labor blacklist

The United States on Friday added 43 Chinese companies to its import blacklist under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, alleging links to forced labor involving Uyghurs and other minorities. China strongly condemned the move, calling it economic coercion, saying the allegations lack factual basis and promising to safeguard the interests of Chinese firms. Beijing also said the measures would harm legitimate rights and disrupt global industrial and supply chains, and criticized the timing after recent trade talks; Xinjiang was noted as home to more than 10 million Uyghurs.

The US blacklisted 43 Chinese entities under the UFLPA.
