Elon Musk's company xAI filed a 38-page federal lawsuit against Minnesota days before the state's first-in-the-nation ban on AI "nudification" is set to take effect. The company said it does not dispute the goal of banning non-consensual AI-generated nude images, but argued the law goes too far by banning constitutionally protected images, covering consented pictures, and using an overly broad definition of "intimate part." xAI also said there is no safe-harbor for good-faith prevention and highlighted penalties of $500,000 per violation, making the case a test of state power to regulate AI.
