Supabase raises $150 million, acquires Turso
Supabase raised $150 million in a funding round led by Singapore's GIC with participation from CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg, and announced the acquisition of database startup Turso for an undisclosed sum. Supabase commercializes open-source PostgreSQL and offers paid features such as user login management, backups and a cron implementation. It already supports AI workloads with embeddings storage and an MCP server for agents. Turso, built on SQLite, offers fast, low-footprint instances, page-level encryption and embedding support, and a paid cloud option; Supabase plans to use proceeds for employee liquidity and new AI agent features.
