President Lee says AI offers South Korea opportunity

President Lee Jae Myung told a Korean community luncheon in San Francisco that the artificial intelligence era is a major opportunity for South Korea and will be as transformative as the discovery of fire. He said people will increasingly be unable to live without AI and urged the government to prepare because the technology will profoundly affect industry, the economy and society. Lee argued that South Korea's semiconductor manufacturing, defense capabilities and cultural influence give it leverage, and he pledged to build a nation that supports overseas Koreans and enhances their pride.
