De la Fuente includes Huijsen in Spain roster
Luis de la Fuente named a 26-player Spain roster for the fall Nations League window that includes four players who were not on the World Cup-winning squad, most notably Real Madrid center back Dean Huijsen. Huijsen had been left off the World Cup after a turbulent 2025-26 season but has since regained an almost ever-present role under José Mourinho and formed a partnership with Ibrahima Konaté. Other changes include Fermín López replacing an injured Gavi, Josep Martínez replacing the injured Joan García in goal, and Roberto Fernández taking a forward spot formerly held by Borja Iglesias. Spain opens against England at Wembley on Sept. 26.
