IBM and Lockheed Martin open Swiss quantum hub at ETH Zurich
IBM and Lockheed Martin established a quantum innovation hub at ETH Zurich under an offset agreement with armasuisse, and plan to host Switzerland's first IBM Quantum System Two at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre in Lugano. IBM will operate the system, powered by an IBM Quantum Nighthawk processor, while ETH Zurich will provide expertise, access and program support for industry, startups and academia. The collaboration includes planned projects on quantum sensing for navigation and additive manufacturing of metallic alloys, and offers cloud access, training and network resources to accelerate research and develop industrial use cases and talent.
