Italy to host Global Alliance meeting in Rome

Italy will host a meeting of the Global Alliance for a two-state solution in Rome on July 28–29, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani told parliament, saying he will co-chair the meeting with the Saudi foreign minister and push new impetus for the New York Declaration signed last year. Tajani said the meeting will include a significant focus on interfaith dialogue. He also announced a new round of Lebanon talks in Rome on August 4 after a recent follow-up meeting on the Israel-Lebanese agreement, and warned about renewed conflict risks in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
