India minister Goyal to attend G20 trade meeting in US
Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal will visit the United States from September 29 to October 5 to attend the G20 trade ministers' meeting in Milwaukee on September 30 and October 1 and to meet industry leaders and the Indian diaspora in Chicago. On the sidelines he will hold bilateral talks, including with his US counterpart, to try to finalise an interim India‑US bilateral trade agreement that awaits a new preferential tariff architecture after a US Supreme Court ruling removed the legal basis for the earlier offered tariff. He will also promote India as a manufacturing and investment destination and engage businesses and startups.
