X-Men '97 revives Kang the Conqueror for future storyline
Marvel had been building toward an Avengers film, The Kang Dynasty, through Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but the project was derailed after Jonathan Majors was convicted of reckless assault and harassment and Marvel dropped his contract, abandoning the live-action Kang storyline. X-Men '97 season 2 episodes 3 and 4 reintroduce a Kang incarnation as Pharaoh Rama-Tut (Tut-Rama) and include MCU references such as the He Who Remains symbol, Quantumania-like technology, and the Loki score. Creators and producers have hinted the animated run could expand these Kang elements in later seasons, setting up a new pathway for the character.
