Cast named for Dolly Parton musical moving to Broadway
Producers revealed five lead cast members for DOLLY: A True Original Musical as it transfers from Nashville to Broadway's St. James Theatre, with Katie Rose Clarke starring as Dolly and Carrie St. Louis, Norah Nunes, John Behlmann and Gabriel Ebert in key roles. Previews begin Dec. 7 and the show opens Jan. 19, 2027, which would have been Parton's 81st birthday; Parton hand-picked the cast before her August death. The production features Parton's hits and new songs, a book by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter, direction by Bartlett Sher, and a plan to provide 30,000 free student tickets.
