Busan festival welcomes Alfonso Cuarón and European women filmmakers
The 31st Busan International Film Festival will host Alfonso Cuarón in his first Korea visit, with an opening-ceremony appearance, an extended conversation about his camera language, and an IMAX screening of Gravity. Jonás Cuarón's Campeón Gabacho will have its Asian premiere in the World Cinema section with a post-screening Q&A. BIFF and the European Film Promotion run a Europe! Voices of Women+ in Film strand showcasing nine films, including Venice and Cannes prize winners, with five directors attending and panels and a Cine Class planned. The festival runs Oct. 6-15 alongside the Asian Contents & Film Market Oct. 10-13.
