BFI London Film Festival unveils 2026 competition lineup
The BFI London Film Festival has announced the official competition for its 70th edition, naming ten films from ten countries that will vie for the festival's best film award. The program includes the world premiere of Carol Morley's adaptation 7 Miles Out and features work by international directors such as Hirokazu Kore-eda, Sergei Loznitsa, Rubaiyat Hossain and Malgorzata Szumowska. Some titles are due to premiere earlier at Venice or Toronto before screening in London. LFF 2026 runs Oct. 7 to Oct. 18 and the full festival program will be revealed on Sept. 2.
