UAE ministry sets review fees for higher education accreditation
UAE's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research adopted a resolution that sets review fees for higher education and technical and vocational education and training institutions as part of implementing the federal decree-law on higher education and scientific research. The resolution defines fee categories, collection mechanisms and coverage for external evaluators and experts, and requires fees to be transferred to the Cabinet-established Review Fund. The fund will finance licensing, institutional and programme accreditation reviews and the enlistment of international evaluators, giving institutions clearer financial planning and aiming to strengthen transparency, quality assurance and long-term sustainability.
Review fees will fund a dedicated Review Fund for accreditation.
Context
The resolution follows the federal decree-law on higher education. It creates fee rules and a Review Fund. Institutions can now plan finances and the ministry can hire external evaluators.
