India sends largest contingent to WorldSkills Shanghai 2026
Seventy young Indian competitors began contesting at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 across 63 skill categories in a four-day event that opened at the Shanghai World Expo Cultural Centre. The opening brought nearly 1,400 competitors from more than 65 countries, with Chinese leaders formally opening the 48th WorldSkills Competition. India's delegation included 14 ITI candidates and officials Manisha Sensharma and Dilip Kumar; India is competing in 11 new skill categories such as aircraft maintenance, software testing and unmanned aerial systems. The campaign builds on India's WorldSkills Lyon 2024 performance and offers immediate benchmarking against global peers through competitions, an expo and a conference.
