Police release body-camera footage of Mangione arrest
Newly unsealed body-camera footage from eight Altoona police officers documents the December 9, 2024, questioning and arrest of Luigi Mangione inside a McDonald's, including searches that produced a gun magazine, a firearm and a handwritten notebook prosecutors describe as a manifesto linked to the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Portions of the videos were previously shown at a suppression hearing and were sealed by Judge Gregory Carro; they were later released after CNN petitioned following Mangione's federal guilty plea in August. Mangione's defense has asked for dismissal of the state murder case on double-jeopardy grounds, and the judge has not yet ruled.
