Maersk resumes Suez route for Middle East-to-U.S. East Coast service

Maersk said it will resume its Middle East-to-U.S. East Coast service through the Suez Canal, taking another step toward restoring routes through the Red Sea. The company expects westbound transit times to improve by an average of seven days and eastbound sailings to be up to 14 days faster. Maersk called the Suez and Red Sea route the fastest, most sustainable and most efficient way to move cargo between India, the Middle East and the U.S. East Coast, implying a restoration of a major maritime corridor with shorter transit times.
