Dangote plans 12 million tonne fertiliser capacity

Dangote Fertiliser Limited plans to expand capacity to 12 million metric tonnes annually by adding six production lines, with output from the expanded facilities expected between late 2028 and early 2029. The expansion would raise the group's capacity from about three million tonnes of urea at its Ibeju-Lekki complex to roughly four times that level, and the group also plans 2.2 million tonnes of diammonium phosphate and projects in Ethiopia plus potash and phosphate development. Dangote said it now targets a 2027 public listing for the fertiliser unit and has created a new shipping unit to support operations.
