EU prepares major expansion of sanctions against Russia
Kaja Kallas announced that the European Union plans a major autumn expansion of sanctions on Russia that could increase individual and corporate listings by roughly one third if approved. the comment follows a 23 July 21st package that added 218 individual listings, froze assets and extended transaction bans across 94 banks and other financial institutions, targeted shadow fleet vessels and hit military-industrial suppliers. the new proposal would broaden pressure on financial intermediaries, energy revenues and the supply chains for military production, but adoption depends on unanimous agreement among the 27 member states.
